Glittering start of Hero Indian Super League.

Indian Super League (ISL), officially known as the Hero Indian Super League was launched on October 12th, 2014 Kolkata’s Salk Lake Stadium with the match Atlético de Kolkata Vs. Mumbai City, in which Atlético de Kolkata record comfortable 3-0 victory over Mumbai City. The ISL football tournament will last from October to December.





India’s leading industrialists and celebrities from sports as well as the Indian film industry have invested in owning the Indian Super League’s eight franchises which are:

1. Atlético de Kolkata

2. NorthEast United FC

3. Delhi Dynamos FC

4. FC Pune City

5. Chennaiyin FC

6. FC Goa

7. Kerala Blasters FC

8. Mumbai City FC
 
ISL’s vision is to develop an entertaining football league engaging hundreds of millions of fans and improve playing standards in India. Its mission is to make India a global football power and promote the game so that India qualifies for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
