After over six decades the launch of the new full-service airline Vistara (a joint venture of TATA & Singapore Airlines) at 12:52pm with 148 passengers and 6 crew members on Airbus A320 from Delhi to Mumbai marked the re-entry of the Tata Group in the Aviation Sector in India.
Vistara is bringing in a three-class product on its Airbus A320 fleet, introducing the premium economy class for the first time in India with 16 seats in business class, 36 in premium economy and 96 in economy.
JRD TATA, a legendary businessmen founded first commercial airlines back in 1932 which was acquired by government (now known as Air India) as a result of restriction on private sector in aviation sector in those years.
